Unity in the Assembly: Judging Others

Shabbat Shalom Achim (brothers and sisters in Hebrew)

This lesson is part of the Unity in the Assembly series which has a goal in encouraging and teaching believers in exhorting and edifying each other since we are one body in Yahushua HaMashiach (Yeshua the Messiah).

One of the ways we can exhort and edify each other is through righteous judgment/right-ruling. This is contrary to what many of us have learned when we were taught that we are ‘Not to Judge Others’. This goes against the Word of YHWH. There is a right way of judging others and a wrong way of judging others. One lifts up and builds while the other takes down and destroys the Assembly.

Let us make sure that we strive to have Unity in the Assembly. We glorify and honor YHWH when we do.

יברכך יהוה וישׁמרך׃
יאר יהוה פניו אליך ויחנך׃
ישׂא יהוה פניו אליך וישׂם לך שׁלום׃

YHWH will kneel before you presenting gifts and will guard you with a hedge of protection,
YHWH will illuminate the wholeness of his being toward you bringing order and he will beautify you,
YHWH will lift up his wholeness of being and look upon you and he will set in place all you need to be whole and complete (Numbers 6:24-26)

Have a blessed Shabbat.

Shalom,

Dirk

Unity in the Assembly: Evil Tongue

Shabbat Shalom Achim (brothers and sisters in Hebrew)

This lesson is part of the Unity in the Assembly series which has a goal in encouraging and teaching believers in exhorting and edifying each other since we are one body in Yahushua HaMashiach (Yeshua the Messiah).

The unity in the assembly can be very easily broken down and we see this happening every day. This lesson focuses on Evil Tongue. How we speak to each other can cause life or death. The power of tongue (or speech) is very powerful. Let us learn what is considered Evil Tongue and do our best to avoid it so that we can glorify YHWH, our Elohim by encouraging and edifying our brothers and sisters.

Money, Debt, & You

Shabbat Shalom Achim (brothers and sisters in Hebrew)

This Shabbat lesson is a continuation of my last week’s Shabbat lesson “Thanksgiving Do-Do?” When we deal with money like we do every day, many of us do not realize when money has taken control of our lives and as a result we are in debt.

Being in debt causes us to neglect, even though it may not be on purpose, others who are in need as a result this does not give YHWH glory.

Certain events like Black Friday where businesses promote their goods in tempting us to get into debt to purchase those goods. This leads us to “not give” to others in a way that truly glorifies YHWH. This lesson reminds us where our focus in life should be—Serving YHWH and obeying his commandments.

Shalom,

Dirk
