Faith Requires Action

Shalom,

This video talks about whether it is enough to just believe. Is it necessary for us to follow our belief with action that is righteous? How do we know what is righteousness?

—–Transcript—–

Hello, my name is Dirk.

Christianity/Church teaches that Yahushua taught two commandments: Love your Elohim and Love your neighbor as yourselves.  They also teach that Torah is done away.  This vlog is split into two parts, each focusing on one of the commandments as well as focusing on how the Torah is related to the commandments.

Slide: We Will Love YHWH

Before Yahushua was crucified, one person asked Yahushua, “What is the greatest commandment?”  In the bible, in both books of Matthew and Mark, are the responses that Yahushua gave to the person.  This includes both commandments.  I will focus on the first one.

Slide: Matthew 22:36-37

(36)  “Teacher, which is the great command in the Torah?”

(37)  And יהושע said to him, “ ‘You shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind.’

Slide: Mark 12:29-30

(29)  And יהושע answered him, “The first of all the commands is, ‘Hear, O Yisra’ĕl, יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one.

(30)  ‘And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first command.

First, we must remember Yahushua did not come to start a new religion.  He did not come to start new teaching.  He came in His Father’s name to teach what His Father taught.  With that in mind, we can look at the scriptures and understand what we are reading—the purpose behind what is being said.

In this particular situation, a Pharisee, who is from the House of Judah from the Southern Kingdom, (remember that?), asked Yahushua what was the first commandment—the greatest?   He already knew the answer which came from the Torah and was curious if what Yahushua was teaching was correct and from the Father.  Yahushua replied and said “Hear O’ Israel, YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is one, you shall love YHWH with all your heart, with all your might, with all your mind, and this is the first commandment”.   The Pharisee knew from where that information that Yahushua said came from.

Where did that comment come from?  Was it a new commandment that we did not know?  Or?  Let us look and read from the book of Deuteronomy chapter 6:4-5.

Slide: Deuteronomy 6:4-5

(4)  “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!

(5)  “And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.

Hear O’ Israel, YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is One. You will love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your might.  This means that everything that you are, your thinking, your actions, everything.  You must give it to YHWH if you really love Him.  Really give it to Him.   This also means that anything else that is not pleasing to YHWH must be removed and we do not do them.

Today’s teachings in church indicate that Torah is done away.  However, Yahushua came to teach what His Father taught.   He also taught about the importance of the two commandments.   Love Elohim with all your heart—all.  Where did this come from?  The Old Testament—it is not actually the Old Testament, it is still a valid covenant there.    YHWH commanded the people that “you will love me with all your mind, with all your heart, with all your strength”.  This is very important.   You will talk about it all day, when you leave and when you return, everything that you do, everything that you think must be of YHWH.

Now people may say:  “But I cannot do it, it is very burdensome!”   However, Scriptures is very clear on this.   In First John 5:3 says “it is not a burden”.  If you love Elohim, love YHWH very much, you will obey His commandments. The word commandments does not mean just the two commandments that I am talking about today: Love Elohim and Love your neighbor as yourselves.  It also means all of the instructions that YHWH gave us.   I love Him and others and what You want me to do, I will do them.   But people say it is a burden. I feel like I am being punished.  That is not so.  Scripture says it is not a burden. Just like Yahushua who said, if you love me, follow me, my yoke is light.  Just like following YHWH, His burden is light—not heavy.

Read the verse

Slide: 1 John 5:3

(3)  For this is the love for Elohim, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy,

Slide:  We Will Love Our Neighbors As Ourselves

We have discussed the first commandment—You will love YHWH your Elohim.  Will love with all your mind, heart, and strength.  With all that you can you will love Him.   The second commandment is that you will Love your neighbor as yourselves.   From the same books in the bible, Matthew and Mark. Read on.

Slide: Matthew 22:39-40

(39)  “And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’

(40)  “On these two commands hang all the Torah and the Prophets.”

Slide: Mark 12:31

(31)  “And the second, like it, is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other command greater than these.”

In the first commandment, there is a reference to the Old Testament—the Book of Deuteronomy.  This commandment also refers to the Old Testament but from the Book of Leviticus 19:18 which says you will not take vengeance or hold a grudge against the children of your people, you will love your neighbor as yourself, I am YHWH. Please read.

Slide: Levicitius 19:18
(18) ‘Do not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the children of your people. And you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am יהוה.

Both commandments that Yahushua repeated came from the Torah.  The Torah is still for today.  It hasn’t stopped, it hasn’t been put away.  The emphasis about the two commandments is that you must love YHWH first so you can really give yourselves to Him then love your neighbor as yourself.   It is so that it becomes easy to follow the Father’s commands which do not become a burden when you do not have any feeling so anger or jealousy or desire for vengeance against your neighbor. We let YHWH take care of those things. Give everything of yours to YHWH.

In the book of First John 5:2 which says if you love the children of YHWH our Elohim, this means that you already love YHWH and guard His commandments. Read on.

Slide: 1 John 5:2
(2) By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and guard His commands.

Notice, the verse says when you love Elohim, you will guard His commands.   Who is Elohim? YHWH!   It is important that we remember that the writers of the New Testament emphasize on guarding His commands, doing His commands—who are they referring to? Elohim/YHWH.  Where did His commands come from?  From the Torah.   When we know it is from Torah, we can read it and know what to do.  Remember our death penalty is nailed on the stake. Our disobedience against YHWH will not receive any punishment because we know He is our Elohim and we know what He did for us.  By knowing this, we should really truly love Him and all that we do is for YHWH.   My attitudes, thoughts, and loving YHWH will make it possible to love other people.

I want to close with verses from Book of John.  Chapter 14 verses 15 and 21 through 24 which reinforces with Yahushua talks about when he says.  “If you love me, follow me commands.”  This is what Yahushua said but remember Yahushua came for who?  His Father.  The things He said came from who? His Father.  Remember, Yahushua said the words I say are not mine but my Father’s that I say to you.

Yahushua saying “If you love me, follow my commands” means it is YHWH who is saying, “If you love me, follow my commands” Chapter 14 verses 21-24 emphasizes what I just said.

I hope that you will read and pray on this—find where you stand with YHWH.  Do you really love Him with all your mind, heart, and strength?  All that you do, your thoughts, your behavior, what you do, and your everything—is it pleasing to YHWH?

Yahushua came to… Make sure that we know that the Torah and Prophets is not abolished or destroyed (Part Two)

This is part two of the video. Transcript is posted below.

May YHWH bless you during this Shabbat.

Dirk

The verse says that we must walk like Yahushua walked.  Paul was picked by

Yahushua to preach to the gentiles around the world and people in Church generally believe that Paul preached that we do not have to follow the Torah.

But this is not what Paul preached.   Peter, one of Yahushua’s 12 disciples, wrote cautioning readers to be careful when reading Paul’s writing because it is difficult to understand.  People will twist Paul’s writings for their gain.   I want to show you a verse from Romans 3:31which says clearly that Torah still is for today.

Slide: Romans 3:31

Paul wrote “Do we nullify (remove, do away with, not need anymore) the Torah through faith or belief?   Paul also wrote, “Nay, it is actually contrary (opposite), we actually establish the Torah” This is what Paul wrote.  What Paul meant was “When we have faith/belief does it mean Torah ends/is no more?  No, through faith we establish the Torah.”  This means Torah is still for today.  I do not mean that I believe in Yahushua, Torah is put aside or passed away.   Paul emphasized that this was not the case and that the Torah was still established.

After Yahushua was teaching about how precious children were, he was approached by a teacher who asked how he could have everlasting life.  I want you to see what Yahushua’s response was to this question.

Slide: Matthew 19:16-17

This person asked Yahushua, what good can I do to get everlasting life. Yahushua replied “Good?  There is no one here who is good except for Elohim—you want everlasting life—sure—guard His commands.  The word guard does not necessary mean protect as a shield, it means we adhere to it and by adhering to it, we are actually keeping the Torah alive.  We do not let it be destroyed.   We adhere to it.

Yahushua tells us that if we want everlasting life, we must adhere (guard) to  His commands.   In Proverbs 7:2 which says “If you want life, guard His commands”

Slide: Proverbs 7:2

Proverbs 7:2 tells us “Guard my (meaning YHWH’s) commands and live. This means with His Commands we do, do what we are supposed to do.  The Torah which is an apple of your eye (very precious/special) meaning the Torah is very previous/special.  This means YHWH looks at the Torah as a very important thing for you.  You should also look at the Torah and take it, look at it as very precious/special.    Church teaches that Torah is put away/done with; in the book of Revelation (the last book of the Bible) there are several verses tell us who will be there at the end.  Who the remnants are, those who do two things, the first being that they believe in Yahushua and the second being that they guard His commands.

Let’s look at the first verse from Revelation.

Slide: Revelation 12:17

Guard, which means adhere, the commands of Elohim and the witness of Yahushua the Messiah—the remnants at the end have both of them.  Guarding the commandments of Elohim and witness of Yahushua the Messiah, this means that the people believe in Yahushua.  Revelation 14:12 says that those who endure to the end, the set-apart (holy) ones believe in guarding/adhering to the commands of Elohim and the belief of Yahushua the Messiah.  Read the verse.

Slide: Revelation 14:12

At the end, it is the people who believe in both, guarding the commandments of Elohim and the belief of Yahushua.  Yahushua came to let us know that the Torah is still for today– I did not come to destroy the Torah.   The death penalty of us sinning against YHWH has already been nailed to the stake.  We now know that we can guard the commandments, adhere to YHWH’s commandments without fear of getting the death penalty if we believe in Yahushua the Messiah.

I am not here to tell you that what the Church is doing or teaching is wrong.  I want you to know the truth in the Bible that I have learned after years of studying and learning what is the truth.  There is a purpose for everything including why YHWH hid this information and not let the people know the truth.   I will elaborate more on this later but it is important that you know now.  Torah is still for us today.  This is what Yahushua came to let us know.

I will close with a last verse from Revelation in which Yahushua himself says, I am the Aleph and Taw.  In Greek, it is Alpha and Omega, but in Hebrew it is Aleph and Taw with Taw being the last letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.  I am the Aleph and Taw, the Beginning and End, the First and Last.  Yahushua said this, and then in the next verse has Yahushua saying that those who guard His commands will have access to the Tree of Life.  The emphasis here is belief in Yahushua the Messiah and guarding YHWH’s commandments.

You will have life.
