Hello, my name is Dirk

Remember, in my previous vlog, I explained that YHWH the Father gave His Son the name Yahushua.  Not Jesus, the name Jesus was never given to Yahushua, never!

The term Jesus has no meaning in the Greek language, Latin language, and English language, none at all.  However, the Name Yahushua has meaning, the rest of this vlog will explain the meaning of His Name.   Let us go ahead and begin by reading John 5:43.

Yochanan/John 5:43

“I have come in My Father’s Name and you do not receive Me, if another comes in his own name, him you would receive.

Yahushua said,  “I come in My Father’s Name, but you do not receive Me, if another comes in his own name, him you would receive.”   We know that Yahushua is the name that was given to the Son by the Father.  We should accept that name, but people and those in the church use the name Jesus instead.  Jesus is not the name that the Father gave the Son.  Yet people accept that name.   Let me remind you of what YHWH’s name looks like with this next slide.

Name of YHWH

יהוה

YHWH

Did you see the slide with the Hebrew Letters on top and the English letters on the bottom which says YHWH?  Now I am going to show you Yahushua’s name in Hebrew and compare it with His Father’s name, YHWH.  Compare both names and try to see where I am coming from when I am trying to explain to you.

Name of YHWH and Yahushua

יהושע        יהוה

Yahushua            Yahweh

Yahushua was right!  He said “I come in My Father’s Name.”  Did you notice the name Yah?   This is the name of the Father.  Yahweh is the word that we hear spoken, whether in the Hebrew language or the English language, it is spoken as Yahweh.  When we hear the word, we try to fit the English sounding letters into words and we write it down as Yahweh as you just saw in the recent slide.

Yah is the abbreviated part of His Name.   It is written in the Old Testament portion of the bible.   It has been used more than 50 times.   You will not find it in the King James Version bible or other bibles because they changed it to LORD.  Already YHWH’s name has been removed replaced with a different name and you did not know about it especially about the importance of the Fathers Name in His Son’s Name.  I am going to give you an example of the name Yah used for the first time in Exodus 15:2, look for the name Yah.

Shemoth/Exodus 15:2

“Yah is my strength and song, and He has become my deliverance. He is my Ěl, and I praise Him – Elohim of my father, and I exalt Him.

See the name Yah? Normally I sign the name YHWH or YH which indicates Yah.  Right now, I am going to explain the true meaning of the name of Yahushua which is very powerful!  His Name means…

Meaning of Yahushua

יהושע

Yahweh is Salvation

Now you know why I sign Yahushua the way I do.   Yahushua means YHWH is salvation!  People back then knew the name of YHWH, they knew it.  When Yahushua said “I come in My Father’s Name”, the people knew that YHWH came to save them from their sins.   In my previous vlog, I talked about Yoesph getting a message from the messenger in the dream saying do not do what you plan to do, the name is Yahushua is given to your son because he will save His people from their sins.   This is written in Matthew 1:21.  Go ahead and read it

Mattithyahu/Matthew 1:21

“And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name יהושע for He shall save His people from their sins.”

What a powerful name is Yahushua!  YHWH is Salvation!  If we did not the Father’s Name YHWH, how could we know the Son’s Name Yahushua, the importance of their relationship with their Names?  Let me give you a quick example.  As many of you know LORD and Jesus, how are they related? There is none, because their names mean nothing.   We know Yahushua came here to die for our sins so we can be saved.  By knowing the name of the Father YHWH and the Son Yahushua, we know the power of their name and the meaning of their actions.

Yahushua died so we could be saved, and who does the saving? The Father YHWH.

 Yeshayahu/Isaiah 43:11

I, I am, יהוה and besides Me there is no saviour

Luqas/Luke 1:47

And my spirit has rejoiced in Elohim my Saviour

We know Yahushua made a tremendous sacrifice when he died for our sins.  His name Yahushua means YHWH is Salvation and by His sacrifice, we are saved.  Scripture also shows that we must know His Name given to Him by His Father and the name Yahushua is the name above all names as I showed you in the previous vlog.

Scripture also states, which I will show you in a moment, which we must be saved in that name and not by any other name.   Jesus is another name and we cannot be saved by that name.  We must know the name Yahushua because in that name it means YHWH is Salvation.  Let me go ahead and show you the verse from Acts.

Ma’asei/Acts 4:12

“And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”

It is important to know the name of Yahushua.  By knowing the Name of the Son, we know the Name of the Father.  When Yahushua died, rose and interacted with the people for 40 days and was about to be ascended He told his disciples that they would not see Him again until they say “Blessed is He who comes in the Name of YHWH”.  We know Yahushua came in His Father’s Name which is YHWH.  In the future when Yahushua comes again, we must know His Name so that we know who is coming!  In the Name of YHWH!  Then we can say Blessed is He who comes in the name of YHWH—who is Yahushua!

The Truth–The Name of Yahushua

Hello, my name is Dirk

Like I mentioned in the previous vlog, if we know the truth we would change from
what was wrong and stay in the truth because it is right and good.

I have a question for you.  If I told you Jesus is not His name, what would you do about it?    Would you try to find out what His true name is and then change by using that Name?   Or would you remain using Jesus because it is tradition and has been used for many, many years being used by the church, your parents, your grandparents, your friends? With everyone else using it, would you find it difficult change the name or would go ahead and change because we honor His Name.

I am going to show you a verse from Matthew 1:21.  The verse occurred during the events when Yoseph was thinking about divorcing his wife because he found out that she was pregnant.  He decided he wanted to divorce her quietly and discreetly.  However, YHWH had other plans and He sent a messenger to speak with Yoseph to tell him not to divorce.  The message that was given to Yoesph is in the verse I am about to show you.   I want to share a little something with you.   I do not use the name Jesus nor do I use the sign for Jesus.  Rather, I use the sign for Yahushua.  I will explain why later.  Let us go and look at the verse from Matthew.

Mattithyahu/Matthew 1:21

“And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name יהושע for He shall save His people from their sins.”

Interesting, isn’t it?  Yoseph know his son’s name before he was born.  The messenger informed Yoseph that his son’s name was Yahushua.   I am going to take the time and show you a slide showing you Yahushua’s name in Hebrew as well as showing you the Hebrew transliteration of Hebrew sounding letters in English.

Slide of Hebrew Letters and Transliteration

יהושע

Yahushua

You might think, it does not matter if the name is in Hebrew, the important thing is I know Jesus, He knows my heart. Everything will be fine.  I strongly believe that it is very important to know His Name from the language His name was given in, which is the Hebrew language.

The meaning becomes much more important when we know His Name in His language.   Even Yahushua Himself used His Name in the Hebrew Language.  When Paul (which you know him as however I use the Hebrew words transliterated into English sounding words which is Sha’ul) was walking to Damascus with those journeying with him looking for people who believe in Yahushua and persecute them suddenly saw a bright light and the verse that I am about to give you clearly states that Yahushua Himself spoke to Sha’ul in the Hebrew language.   Yahushua gave His Name to Sha’ul in the Hebrew language.   This means a great deal because Sha’ul started to spread the Word of YHWH through Yahushua to the people in other lands.  Let me go ahead and show you the verse from Acts.

Ma’asai/Acts 26:14-15

14)  “And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me, and saying in the Heḇrew language, ‘Sha’ul, Sha’ul, why do you persecute Me? It is hard for you to kick against the prods.

15)  “And I said, ‘Who are You, Master?’ And He said, ‘I am יהושע, whom you persecute.

Did you see in the verse where Yahushua was speaking in the Hebrew language?  He told Sha’ul “I am Yahushua whom you persecute”.   When we read scriptures and we notice something is being emphasized we should take immediate notice.  Like with the recent verse where it said, “in the Hebrew language” we immediately know that there is something important being emphasized with what we read.    When we continue to read, we recognize that His Name becomes more important.

For example, we meet a friend, or a friend moves to America, from Spain, Russia, Germany, Africa, their name in that particular country do we change their name from their language to our English language and/or meaning like Jorge in Spain is like George in America in the English language.?  Do we go ahead and force the change of Jorge to George when they move to America?  We will not do this!

A person from Russia moves to America or a person from Germany moves to America, do we go ahead and change their names to English names?  We would never do that.   The name they were born with, we will honor the name.  This is the same with Yahushua.  He was born with the name given to Him we honor the name.

In the next few vlogs I will be explaining the importance of His Name, why we should use His Name, the meaning of His Name.  Before I close, I will be showing you one verse from Philippians which strongly emphasizes that we should use the name Yahushua not Jesus because Jesus was never His name.   It always was Yahushua.   This verse is when Elohim, Yahushua’s Father gave the Name was above all other names.  When we are made aware of this, we should take notice and make every effort to start using the Name that the Father gave to Him.

Pilipiyim/Philippians 2:9

2:9  Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name,

The Truth—The Third Commandment

Shalom Viewers,

Below is the transcript of the video.  Knowing YHWH’s name is the beginning of knowing Him.

May you have a blessed Shabbat and Feast of Pentecost this weekend.

If we found the truth or learned about the truth, we would abide by it and correct ourselves especially of what we have always known or thought to be true was not in fact the truth.  One of those truths is The Third Commandment which deals with using the personal name of YHWH.  Since many of believers do not know the name of YHWH and instead use LORD or GOD thinking they are using the right name, they miss the true meaning of the Third Commandment.
Devarim/Deuteronomy 5:11
‘You do not bring the Name of
יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave him unpunished who brings His Name to naught.
Many believers believe that the Third Commandment has to do with using His name when cursing or when living life of Sin and using his Name.  Both reasons are good ones. Those two are also what we should also strive to do in our everyday lives.
However, the real purpose of the Third Commandment has more to do with the personal name of YHWH and what we should not do to it.  Let us begin by looking at two of the popular bible translations since many of the believers use bibles that use LORD or GOD in capital letters.

Bible Translations of Devarim/Deuteronomy 5:11

New International Version (©1984)
“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

King James Bible
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold [him] guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

We see that there are three different words; naught, vain, misuse.  We now have three different words used in the bibles (there are a few more other words used).  Let us take a look at the definitions of each term based from the Oxford Dictionary.

Naught:   Nothing, Zero, Ruin,

Vain:        Having high opinion of oneself

Producing no result, useless

Having no meaning or likeliness of fulfillment

Misuse:    Use something in wrong way or for wrong purpose

Treat someone badly or unfairly

We find three different definitions and there are some similarities but nothing concrete to tell us which one is the meaning that is being conveyed to us.   To better understand the meanings of the definitions, we must look at the original word which is in Hebrew.  I normally use Strong’s Concordance of Hebrew/English and Greek/English dictionary.

Original Word: שׁוא

Transliteration: shav

Meaning:

H7723:  From the same as H7722 in the sense of desolating; evil (as destructive), literally (ruin) or morally (especially guile); figuratively idolatry (as false, subjectively), uselessness (as deceptive, objectively; also adverbially in vain): – false (-ly), lie, lying, vain, vanity.

In  Devarim/Deutonomy the word Shav is translated into either naught, vain, misuse.  The term Shav is also used again in another commandment, the Ninth Commandment.  With this term used differently we can get a bigger picture of what YHWH does not want us to do with his Name.

Devarim/Deuteronomy 5:20

‘You do not bear false witness against your neighbour.
The term Shav is translated as false which is keeping with the original definition of the Hebrew word. As defined: we have Ruin, Destruction, False.  This means two things, the first being that when something is ruined or destroyed, there is nothing left.  What was there before is gone now.   The second is by lying about the name, By changing YHWH to LORD or God– we create a false statement, a false idol, a false name.  People start believing in that falseness.

We are now getting the real picture of the Third Commandment and the clear expectation that YHWH wants us to do with His Name, and more specifically what not to do with His Name.

Getting the real picture

We cannot bring YHWH’s name to ruin

We cannot bring YHWH’s name to nothingness

We cannot bring YHWH’s name to destruction

We cannot make YHWH’s name false

What does that tell us about the importance of YHWH’s name? A great deal!  His Name is forever!  By knowing His Name we can be filled with his esteem!

Tehillim/Psalms 72:17-19

17) Let His Name be forever, His Name continue before the sun; And let them bless themselves in Him; Let all nations call Him blessed.

18) Blessed be יהוה Elohim, Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, He alone is doing wonders!
19) And blessed be His esteemed Name forever! And let all the earth Be filled with His esteem. Amĕn and Amĕn.

Scriptures tells us what are we to do with His Name? We are to memorialize, declare, publish, magnify, glorify, wait on, praise, honor, extol, seek, bless, call upon, thank, desire, think upon, hallow, hold fast, and fear YHWH’s Name. Isn’t that enough to tell us how important His Name is?  Have we been blinded by the lies of the people who destroyed His Name, brought down His Name to nothingness by changing His Name from YHWH to LORD or GOD?   Let us wake up and give thanks for knowing His Name.

Let me give you one example of how easily we have been blinded.  Let us read from Yeshyahu/Isaiah 42:8 in KJV.

(KJV) Yeshyahu/Isaiah 42:8

I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

We know His Name is not LORD and in Yeshyahu/Isaiah, we are told that LORD is his name.  We can see in KJV and many translations that say LORD is His name.  Already we have been given a false statement.  By using LORD or GOD is making a false statement.  This reinforces the meaning of Shav which means false, lying, destruction, ruin.   As you can see in Isaiah 42:8; we are told that LORD is his name when that is not true and this is breaking the Third Commandment.

Let us see it with YHWH’s name intact and see how much more profound His words come out.

(Scriptures)  Yeshyahu/Isaiah 42:8

“I am יהוה, that is My Name, and My esteem I do not give to another, nor My praise to idols.

By changing YHWH’s name to GOD or LORD YHWH’s name was brought down to nothingness. The translators literally ruined His name by replacing his Name.   By continuing to use GOD or LORD you are destroying YHWH’s name.  YHWH will punish those who destroy his name and bring it down to nothing?

Devarim/Deuteronomy 5:11
‘You do not bring the Name of יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave him unpunished who brings His Name to naught.

Let us stop tradition and walk in the truth.  YHWH’s name is YHWH and it is simply so.    He tells us to Know His Name, Love His Name, and Use His Name.  By His grace we are allowed to see the Truth and know His Name.  By His Mercy we are able to truly know Him through His Name. Take this commandment to heart and do it.

Closing Verse

Revelations 22:3-4
22:3  And no longer shall there be any curse, and the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

22:4  And they shall see His face, and His Name shall be upon their foreheads.
